Ford Motor Company has unveiled the all-new 2025 Expedition SUV-a thorough refinement and upgrade for leadership in a more crowded space of full-size SUVs. This model features an all-new updated, elegant interior and exterior design; boasts added comfort and convenience features; and wraps up in an optional 24-inch driver display and Ford’s innovative Blue Cruise hands-free highway driving system.

“We spent more than 1,100 hours talking with customers about their everyday lives. With those insights, we’ve rethought and redesigned the Expedition to help customers maximize their time with family and make life easier before, during, and after every trip,” said Trevor Scott, general manager, Ford Utilities.

Although Ford has not released pricing information for the 2025 Expedition, the automaker will note the final price when the vehicles hit dealerships later in the spring. Today’s models are sold in the range of approximately $55,000 to around $84,000, and average at around $70,000 per transaction.

Indeed, the Expedition model has not had a major redesign in seven years, and in its last overhaul, it was against General Motors’ full-size SUVs: Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon.

While GM’s product line still has to take the lion’s share of the market segment, things have moved on with new challengers like the Stellantis Jeep Wagoneer and three-row crossovers from Kia and Hyundai, which have managed to keep the consumers entertained.

Actually, Edmunds notes three-row crossovers, such as the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade, are becoming more popular, and this category is not an exception. The mainstream full-size SUV segment has continued to grow in the United States to 2.7% so far in 2023 after posting a 0.7 percentage point increase since Edmunds started tracking the segment in 2017, and sales have reached around 312,500 units through September.

The model lineup will be updated for 2025 Expedition; there will be Active, Platinum (with an ‘Ultimate’ version), King Ranch, and the new addition – Tremor, designed for those customers needing even more performance off-road. The Expedition will come in standard and extended “Max” configurations, with either a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 or a high-output version pushing 440 horsepower and 510 foot-pounds of torque.

With these enhancements, Ford aims to strengthen the Expedition’s position in a strong marketplace where it has to cater to an array of needs of modern families yet not compromise its solid performance and reliability.
