GA-ASI and Conflux Join Hands to Develop FOHE

GA-ASI is collaborating with long-time collaborator Conflux Technology on the design and manufacture of a new Fuel Oil Heat Exchanger (FOHE) for the MQ-9B. This improved thermal solution is being developed by GA-ASI for its MQ-9B SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian remotely piloted aircraft.

Stephen Eiting, vice president of Manufacturing Operations for GA-ASI said, they wants to optimize and augment the performance of our current units by minimizing the differential pressure across the FOHE.”

“We want to maximize the overall heat extraction capacity while looking for opportunities to lower the mass and volume of the FOHE,” he concluded.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. is a leading unmanned aircraft developer that creates cutting-edge solutions for military, security, governance, and environmental operations, among other things. Conflux is an Australian-based thermal management system solution provider that is a pioneer in mastering additive manufacturing for heat exchanger applications. Since 2018, the two companies have collaborated on the development of heat exchangers for aerospace.
