Today, the Polis-Primavera Administration and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) made the announcement that the defense industry startup Nooks, a leader in Classified-Space-as-a-Service owned by veterans, has chosen Colorado Springs for expansion.

Nooks will open its third and biggest national facility here, offering flexible access to classified facilities and related networks to commercial and government clients.

New Initiatives in the Aerospace Sector

“We are excited to welcome Nooks to Colorado Springs, which will help improve national security space and create 35 well-paying jobs. Governor Polis stated, “I look forward to the continued success of our aerospace and advanced technologies industries, as Colorado is a leader in innovation and as more companies choose to move and expand here.”

The founders of Nooks, who previously worked in government, defense, and emerging technologies, were aware that innovators frequently lack access to the physical and IT infrastructure necessary to move or work on classified data and systems. This eases back the reception of new advancements in public safety. The company hopes to accelerate innovation and technology adoption in the nation’s defense sector by providing classified facilities and networks.

Nooks joins a growing number of more than 250 businesses in Colorado Springs that focus on providing advanced technologies in national defense, global positioning systems, cybersecurity, and satellite communications. Nooks uses Colorado Springs as a hub to support data centers around the country and in the western United States.

Niches have tied down privileges to an office close to the College of Colorado, Colorado Springs grounds, and hope to mix $33-37 million into the neighborhood economy. The 60,000-square-foot facility will give the government, business, and academia a safe place to work together or separate classified activities at the same time. At this time, the only company authorized to carry out this work on behalf of the United States Government is Nooks.
